Paleo Diet For MMA Fighter, Learn How to do it

By admin on May 19, 2012

In order to be a good MMA fighter, it is essential to obtain a great shape, get more energy, lose weight easily and sleep like a baby. Of course, better training is another compulsory fact; but to start MMA training, adequate potential is mainly necessary. The only way to acquire full potential for MMA training is by eating exact diet. Since MMA fighting is extremely competitive sport, a MMA fighter should have a diet that will give him the best fighting edge. Particularly, a diet without grains, sugar, legumes, vegetable oils and preservatives is really essential. Since, Paleo diet focuses on eating healthy proteins, nutrient rich fruits and vegetables as well as avoiding processed foods at all costs, MMA fighters can be very effective to gain energy for success.

What is the Paleo diet?

The Paleo diet advocates a diet that recommends eating healthy proteins, nutrient rich fruits and vegetables and avoiding all kinds of processed foods. This diet plan is based on eating more healthy protein but less carbohydrates.  The Paleo diet is based on a very basic theory: to obtain maximum energy levels eat what the Paleolithic humans eat. Since proteins and healthy nutrition are essential for fighters, this diet is quickly becoming more and more popular to MMA fighters, athletes, eco-lovers, and celebrities. Most of the MMA fighters can down anything since they train very hard; but if they put exact fuel in their body, they should put premium diets, not just unleaded diets.

Most of the typical American MMA fighters eat too many dairy, cereal, and refined sugars instead of nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, seafood and lean meats. Human bodies weren’t designed to process these kinds of foods – so, simply they slow down a MMA fighter’s stamina and do not help the body to build mass as efficiently as natural diets do.

The Paleo diet is also eco-friendly!

There is scientific proof that the Paleo diet is more environmentally healthy than as usual vegan alternatives. For instance –

  • The Paleo diet avoids dairy products from beef, chicken, and other meats, which are bad for the health as well as environment.
  • Based on the latest lab research by H. Scott Matthews and Christopher Weber, vegetables, fruits and cereals produce more greenhouse gas emissions from transport compared with fish, red meat and chicken.
  • The Paleo diet increases the growth of livestock, which is a good element of the sustainable agriculture.

As a MMA fighter, you have a responsibility to take care of your own fitness. If you choose Paleo diet, it will take full responsibility for the thing you eat and encourage you to eat what’s natural to your body. If you desire best shape and acquire maximum energy level for your next fight, you should put proper fuel into your body. The Paleo diet can do all of these for you. If you want to learn more about the Paleo diet, you can read The Paleo Receipt book – and obtain the best health and fitness by eating the food found in this cookbook.

Recommendation Protein Daily Intake for MMA Athlete

By admin on October 9, 2011

Stocking Up On Protein
In the United Sates, the Department of Agriculture (USDA) lays down the recommended daily requirements for nutrients, including protein. The daily protein intake for most people of average weight is around 70 grams. For athletes, however, the number is set quite a bit higher than that. This is especially true for those playing in extremely vigorous sports such as MMA.

Athletes are advised to eat high levels of protein to ensure that they don’t lose any lean mass from all that intense training. This will also help increase growth, support muscle repair, and just generally ease the difficulties encountered during a tough training regimen, as well as during competitions.

Good sources of protein include legumes, eggs, soy products, lean meats such as turkey and fish, and, to a lesser extent, nuts and grains. We also have the ever popular protein shake, which comes in hundreds of different recipes all geared towards weight loss and muscle gain. This type of food can ensure that you have enough protein to help you out in your athletic career.

MMA Training Recommended by Brock Lesnar

By admin on September 26, 2011

Broke Lesnar TrainingBrock Lesnar is a renowned mixed martial artist. He started as a NCAA heavyweight champion in the year 2000 and since then, he has worked hard to further sculpt his body in preparation for joining the world of mixed martial arts, and participating in the Ultimate Fighting Champion. However, what most people do not know is that he grew up the same way like most of us are. He lived a simple life in a farm in Webster South Dakota and since his lifestyle demands a strong body and endurance, he created work out regimens to be able to develop his body to cope up with his environment. In fact, it was normal for him to run down a road with a hundred-eighty pound tree log thrown at his back as part of his daily exercise. Continue reading “MMA Training Recommended by Brock Lesnar”
